recognition for world class wine production.
Successful viticulture
on his property and a love of fine red wines inspired Vann
Slatter, winemaker, to develop his unique style of approachable,
carefully crafted wines. The Estate Merlot was the beginning
and his repertoire has been expanded to include other regions
in California.
Having selected growers
who follow the same practices in the field and diligence
from the crush to the bottle has enabled Hunter Hill to
produce quality wines every time.

This
Merlot has a rich magenta color that leads to ripe aromas
of herbs, briar and smoky oak with chocolate and hints of
tobacco round out the nose. Lots of concentrated fruit gives
this wine a mouth filling impression.
This wine embodies everything that makes the Santa Cruz Mountains special. Briar and allspice backed by vanilla and sweet smoky oak. Black fruit and flavors lend to firm and balanced tannins. This wine will age gracefully for 3-5 years.
