It's not widely known that the Santa Cruz Mountains produce quality grapes. Nor is it common knowledge that the region is home to some 80 wineries, many producing only a few thousand cases of wine per year. The region's special features include marine microclimates, high altitudes and steep sloped vineyards that often overlook the Monterey Bay.
